How to Check AI Companion Credit Expiry and Monthly Resets
Check credit expiry by separating purchased top-ups, subscription grants and promotional balances. Record each bucket's expiry or reset date, deduction order and access requirements from official terms. Then compare that evidence with your usage history before buying more. A monthly grant is not proof of rollover, and a non-expiring balance is not proof of free access.
Before you start: collect three records without sharing private chats
Use a balance view, the transaction history if available, and the current official credit terms.
This workflow suits adults comparing media plans or investigating a changed balance. Note your account, plan and billing interval, and keep the receipt locally. You need unit balances and dates, not conversation text. This is not a refund guarantee.
If no detailed ledger exists, record known facts and mark the rest unknown. Official examples were checked September 29, 2026; no credit purchase, private account or deduction-order test was performed.
Step 1: separate credits by how you obtained them
Create one row for each source of credits instead of treating the headline balance as a single entitlement.
Label a row purchased top-up, recurring subscription grant, signup bonus or promotional award only when evidence supports the label. Add the quantity and date received. A receipt may establish that you bought a pack but not how the provider orders spending. A plan description may establish a recurring grant but not whether unused units accumulate.
Expected result: you can explain where the known balance came from and identify any unexplained remainder. If only one combined number is visible, keep it combined in your notes and ask for clarification. Do not manufacture separate amounts to make your spreadsheet look complete.
| Record | What to capture | If absent |
|---|---|---|
| Balance source | Purchased, recurring or promotional; amount and receipt date | Label unknown origin |
| Expiry/reset | Exact date, time zone and affected bucket | Do not assume permanence |
| Deduction order | Which bucket pays for the next action | Ask before a large top-up |
| Access condition | Tier or active subscription required | Do not equate balance with access |
Step 2: distinguish a new grant from a reset or an expiry
Find the actual rule for each bucket; these three events change a balance in different ways.
A grant adds units. A reset may replace an allowance. Expiry removes units at a deadline. These are definitions for your audit, not claims that every provider implements all three. Also distinguish the credit event from the payment renewal: paying annually does not logically establish annual-only allowances.
For example, OurDream's standard subscription guide describes monthly dreamcoin grants for both its monthly and annual plans, with a larger initial annual grant. That document does not establish unused-balance rollover or spending priority. Expected result: your notes identify a grant schedule without inventing a retention rule. Save the source URL and the date checked.
Step 3: check whether retained credits still need a subscription
Balance retention, purchase eligibility and feature access must be checked separately.
Lovescape's Chip guide describes Chips as non-expiring and purchased Chips as non-refundable. It also limits purchases to active subscribers. Those statements do not settle every question about spending after cancellation or special promotional balances; do not extend a purchase rule into an access guarantee.
Write three questions beside your ledger: Can I buy more without the plan? Can I spend the current balance without it? What happens when the account closes? Consult the selected tier and current terms. If the answers differ between help and checkout, ask support before paying. Expected result: retained units are not mistaken for unlimited access or a recoverable cash balance.
Step 4: reconcile one permitted action against the ledger
A small, planned check can reveal an accounting mismatch without exhausting your remaining balance.
If you already have access and genuinely want the action, note the displayed unit cost, starting balance and time. Use an original fictional adult scenario with no private image. Perform only that permitted action, then compare the ending balance and any history entry. Skip the test if the cost is unclear or it would require buying access.
Hypothetical example: 240 starting units minus a displayed 30-unit cost should leave 210. An ending balance of 180 needs explanation, not an automatic fraud accusation. These are invented numbers, not provider rates or test results. Expected result: a specific difference to investigate.
Step 5: make a decision before the next credit event
Use expected voluntary usage to set a limit; do not spend merely because units may expire.
Record the next verified deadline and set a reminder ahead of it. Work backward from your realistic workload: how many permitted actions would you choose even without a balance deadline? If a smaller grant covers that workload, compare the smaller tier or no top-up. If retained units cannot be used without renewal, include that renewal in the cost decision.
Treat the cost of an already completed purchase as sunk when deciding whether to spend more. Keeping a plan only to rescue a small balance can create another charge. The FTC's subscription guidance advises understanding renewal and cancellation conditions and retaining cancellation records. Expected result: a deliberate spending ceiling and an exit reminder, not a rushed pack purchase.
Step 6: resolve unknown rules through a narrow support request
Ask for the missing rule or transaction, with enough redacted evidence to make the question answerable.
A useful request is: 'My account shows one combined balance. Which units expire, when is the next grant or reset, what is the deduction order, and can I spend retained purchased units after cancellation?' Add the relevant dates and plan, plus a redacted receipt if needed. Never send a password, verification code or full card number.
For a discrepancy, identify the action time, starting and ending units, and displayed cost. Do not attach the generated image or private chat unless official support explains why it is necessary and you decide to share it. If a deadline approaches without a clear answer, avoid adding money and preserve the record. Expected result: a written clarification or a documented unresolved limitation.
Finish with a credit record you can actually use
Keep the balance source, next event, access condition and spending limit together.
Update the record after a plan change, a top-up or a provider policy change; yesterday's screenshot is evidence, not a permanent promise. Do not let a large coin balance substitute for checking chat, memory, media, privacy, price and cancellation. If expiry, spending order or account access remains material and unknown, stop the purchase and compare a provider with clearer documentation.
What should you compare next?
Once the answer is clear, use the relevant product reviews to compare fit, memory, media, privacy, price and cancellation terms before visiting a provider.
Sources and review note
These primary sources support the workflow or risk framing. Product features, prices and regional availability should still be checked on the official provider page before payment.
Start with an internal review so you can check fit, limits and privacy notes before an affiliate visit.

Frequently asked questions
Does a monthly AI companion credit grant mean unused credits roll over?
No. A recurring grant describes when units are supplied, not necessarily what happens to the previous balance. Check an explicit rollover, replacement or expiry rule for the relevant bucket.
Do non-expiring AI companion credits guarantee access after cancellation?
No. Retaining units and being eligible to use a paid feature are different conditions. Ask specifically about spending existing purchased units after the subscription ends.
Should I use all my credits before they expire?
Only choose actions you actually want within your planned budget. An expiry deadline is not a reason to generate unwanted content or renew a subscription that costs more than the balance is worth to you.
How do I check credit expiry if there is no detailed transaction history?
Record the visible balance, receipts, plan and official terms, then ask support which credit sources and deadlines apply. Mark deduction order and bucket quantities unknown instead of guessing.
